An American wedding in Scopello, Sicily

Getting married in Sicily means discovering little tourist areas that hold atmospheres of the Sicily of the past! That’s what happened to our American couple, Melissa and Frank.
The bride wanted to get married in her mother’s homeland to rediscover the atmospheres and landscapes of ancient and authentic Sicily, far from the modernity of big cities. She found these characteristics in a little-known area of western Sicily in a tower nestled in the Zingaro Nature Reserve and in the small seaside village of Scopello. The final result was an incredible American Wedding in Scopello, Sicily! But let’s discover a little more!

The amazement I read in the eyes of the bride and groom and their guests was immediate!!! Getting married before an ancient tower from the 500s is fantastic!!!The bride and groom flew in from New York a few days before the wedding to learn more about this magnificent village and take photos on the superb beach below the Scopello Tower.

Getting ready in the ancient tower of the 16th century

For the wedding day of this fantastic American wedding in Scopello, Sicily, the bride prepared in the tower room, surrounded by historical relics belonging to the family that owned the venue. It was truly unique!!! From the small window of the tower, one could admire a breathtaking view of the tuna fishery (Tonnara) stacks below.
The very emotional bride was with her many family members, who participated in the preparation with toasts and lots of laughter and fun.

A romantic civil ceremony in Scopello

On a warm afternoon at the beginning of September, the civil ceremony began with the arrival first of all the guests and then of the very excited groom who waited for the bride on the tower’s terrace overlooking the beautiful sea under a splendid arch of flowers.

This fantastic American wedding ceremony in Scopello, Sicily, was full of emotions for the groom and bride, especially the moment of the exchange of vows and promises with exciting background music accompanying every moment of the ceremony. After the ceremony, the groom and bride chose to take some photos in the magnificent grounds of the venue amidst tropical plants and a garden full of fruit trees and prickly pears, the typical Sicilian landscape!

An authentically Italian wedding reception

The dinner time was the most fun, where the bride, groom, and guests could relax and enjoy a typical Sicilian dinner with traditional dishes reinterpreted gourmet. A band played flok Sicilian and Italian songs involving everyone dancing till the night’s end.
Another moment that amazed the guests was the cake: an unusual tower of Sicilian cannoli with ricotta cheese in perfect Sicilian style!!!
The evening went on with Sicilian music that made everyone dance!!! It was a wonderful day all about Sicilian style and cheerfulness: an incredible American wedding in Scopello, Sicily.
